Green Building
Fulfilling
part of our mission to enable members to expand their
businesses by taking advantage of innovations in construction
technology, avail themselves of trained and highly skilled
productive and administrative employees, and market and
deliver the best possible services to customers, the Inland
Empire Chapter of NECA is working to make green building
innovations highly accessible to our members. As a Living Level Supporter of Cascadia Region Green Building Council and a corporate member of U. S. Green Building Council, we are staying abreast of the green building movement. We encourage our member electrical contractors to advance the green building principle of reducing the waste of electricity by installing technologies such as highly efficient lighting and variable frequency drives for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment. Harnessing renewable energy such as solar power is another important part of green building. With our help, many of our contractors are currently working toward PV Installer certification through the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP). Click here for detailed information on the requirements for PV Installer certification from NABCEP. |
